William Shakespeare

William Shakespeare (1564-1616) was an English playwright, author of a great theatrical work, including the tragedy Romeo and Juliet, and Hamlet or Macbeth dramas.

Little is known about the life of William Shakespeare. In 1582, aged only eighteen, he married the daughter of a farmer whom he had three children.

He moved to London around 1588 and since 1592 has a certain reputation as an actor and playwright. The production of William Shakespeare is colossal.
Its course is divided into four periods which are reflected in his plays: the years of youth, maturity, pessimism and serenity.
He is the author of historical dramas (Richard II, Henry IV, Henry V), jokes (The Taming of the Shrew, the Merry Wives of Windsor), comedies (The Dream of a summer night, the Twelfth Night ) and tragi-comedies (the Merchant of Venice, the Winter's Tale), tragedies (Romeo and Juliet, Antony and Cleopatra) and dark tragedies (Hamlet, Othello, King Lear).
